BMC RM01 Race Machine update.

I have been watching the stats on my blog over the last few weeks and the number 1 search term if for the new BMC Race Machine RM01. So here is a more in depth spec list of what you can expect in the Australian model.
The frame will be very similar in design to the very popular SLR01 with more stiffness built into the seat stays, BB shell and the front fork. We will receive the colour scheme above and not the 'Gulf Porsche" colour going to europe.
Sizing as follows. 47, 50, 53, 55, 57 and 60 cm frames.
Front crankset is a Sram Red BB30 item with matching Sram Red front and rear derailleur and shifters. Brakes are Sram Force, cassette is Sram PG 1070 with the ratio 11-26.Wheels will be the ever reliable Easton EA70 and be shod with Conti Ultra Race tyres. Handlebar is a carbon EC70 and stem an alloy EA70 item. Saddle is Selle Italia SL XC.
Geometry is below.
We have been given an estimated RRP of $6559.00 for a complete bike and $3899.00 for a frameset. This may change with the fluctuating dollar but my best guess is these will be the prices to expect.
As with all BMC bikes numbers will be limited and first orders are due in November. Pre orders are welcome.
All of the specs and pics can now be seen on the new BMC website.

Specialized Camber FSR pro

New for 2011 is the Camber platform. At 120mm of travel it slots in between the Epic (100mm)and the Stumpjumper (140mm) and is aimed squarely at the trail rider.
This range offers by far the best bang for your buck in the Specialized dual suspension range and the Camber FSR pro is likely to be one of the best value bikes available in Australia period.
M4 hydroformed tubes, sealed cartrige bearing pivots, command post cable routing with bolt on guides.
Fox F120rl fork up front, Custom tuned Triad 2 shock with 3 position 'on the fly' switch, 1)lock-out, 2)open, 3)pro-pedal. Sram S-2200 2x10 Carbon double crankset. XTR M980 rear mech. Avid Elixir R-SL brakes with rotor sizes 160/185 mm for small and medium and 185/203mm for large and X/large.
DT X420sl rims and 2Bliss ready "the captain" tyres.
All of this for an amazing $3499.00.
I hear you say you want more.
Any one that buys one of these will get a free Mariposa caffe-latex tubeless conversion kit.

Specialized Rockhopper Comp 29er

So after my 2 days of intense initiation into the Specialized family and a long look at the huge dealer book I thought it was time to share some of my fav's for the coming season.
The Rockhopper Comp 29er is probably not too high on most people's list but I think it will be quite popular with some.
Firstly at $1199.00 it is right on the money for any entry level rider or someone looking at a second (or 3rd or 4th etc) bike to do their own comparison to a 26 inch.
Secondly it can be easily converted to a single speed as it has a neat set of sliding dropouts.
5 sizes from 15.5 inch through to 23 inch means everyone can have one. Sure it's only got an entry level spec with Alivio shift gear, but the custom tuned Suntour fork up front and hydro discs at this price point are a winner.
Due in store the 2nd week of September.
